Exhibition of Drawings and Ceramic Sculpture
For the second year in a row I participated in the Brideswell International Celtic Festival. In 1997 my charcoal landscape drawings were extremely well received. This exhibition titled 'Images from my Place, Visual & Tactile', combined drawings and architectural ceramic sculpture.While drawing from the landscape again, this work took its imagery from the local environment around Ballinasloe, concentrating on the natural light and atmosphere.
Further afield I am probably better known for my ceramics, in particular my making of sculpture that is created and appreciated by touch. While this work has been exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad, it was the first time that people locally had the opportunity to see and touch this sculpture.
